2015 Domestic Violence Awareness Month: Calendar of Events
Each year during October, we honor the memory of those who have died as a result of domestic violence, celebrate those who have survived, and connect those who work to end violence.
Below is a list of all of the events throughout Domestic Violence Awareness Month hosted either by the Family Justice Center or one of our community partners. If you have an event to post here, please email us.

October 2
SAVE (Safe Alternatives to Violent Environments) would like you to join them for breakfast at their 13th Annual Breakfast Eye Opener. Keynote Speaker: California State Senator Connie Leyva, author of SB 592 (Health Relationships and Safe Schools Act).

Tri-Valley Haven invites you to their annual Pace for Peace 5K Walk/Run and 10K Run. Spend the first Saturday of the month in Livermore's beautiful vineyards! Pace For Peace supports Tri-Valley Haven's vital services for survivors. Runners and walkers of all ages are encouraged to participate.

DeafHope invites you to their Annual Tea Party. Help support DeafHope and all the great work they do for our hearing-impared victims by attending their annual Tea Party.

Alameda County District Attorney’s Office is hosting the Fourth Annual Elder & Dependent Adult Abuse Investigations Training called “The Harsh Reality of Vulnerability: Frauds, Physical Abuse & Mental Health Issuesâ€. The deadline for registering is October 1.

October 23
(1) Argosy University, San Francisco Bay Area invites all golfers to play in their 3rd Annual Chasing the Rock for Kids Charity Golf Tournament. This year all proceeds benefit Alameda County Family Justice Center.

(3) A Safe Place and IDVAAC present the National Domestic Violence Conference on Mental Health, Trauma and Domestic Violence. National and local leaders will present evidence-based models for mental health professionals, faith based-leaders, domestic violence and community advocates working to address domestic violence.

Alameda County District Attorney’s Office and the Alameda County Family Justice Center invite you to join them in commemorating Domestic Violence Awareness Month with A Day of Remembrance. Event begins with a Children’s Art Exhibit, and the formal programs includes speakers with the reading of names ceremony.
